Mike Vetter
Born in
Naples, Italy, Raised in Turkey and Germany, moved to Florida in 1992
and started tinkering on Kit cars when he built his first Lamborghini
Countach kit for himself on a Fiero body in 1994-1996. Upon learning
the tricks of the kit car trade, he later sold his first car for a
profit and bought 2 more kits to build. He built one into a Ferrari 355
replica and sold the other fiberglass car body to a young woman and her
Father as a project build for themselves. The young woman was Shannon,
whom Mike married within the year. Together Shannon and Mike have built
up a cottage business building custom “Supercars” for clients. Mike has
built over 30 kit cars, Mike and Shannon have been featured on the
cover of Kit Car magazine 3 times, and many other articles in various
magazines. They purchased a shop (1947 airplane hangar) in Micco,
Florida 4 years ago where they live in the adjacent converted hangar.
Mike and Shannon have a 4 month old baby girl.

Shannon Vetter
Raised in
LaCresent, Minnesota, as the daughter of a Hot Rod Drag Racer, she
always had a fascination for cool fast cars and gained a knowledge of
car building and repair while sneeking around and listening in on
conversations in the garage between her Dad and brother. She spent her
teens modeling for John Casablanca’s. The family moved to Florida 13
years ago and when Shannon was in her 20’s, she convinced her Father to
help her build a kit car. While attending a local car show, they found
a body kit that was being sold by Mike Vetter. They met, fell in love
and soon married. They drove the completed car at their wedding.
Shannon loves getting greasy and works on the engines of the cars that
Mike builds, she also handles many of the other tasks when needed such
as; demolition, fiber glassing, sanding. She recently gave birth to
their first child, Malia, now 4 months.

Charlie
Came down
from Missouri to work repairing homes damaged from the Hurricanes that
plagued the area. While between jobs he met Mike and Shannon, helped
convert one of the pull barns into a home and later found himself
helping Mike build a Carrera GT Super Kit car for a client. Charlie is
an avid NASCAR guy. Back home he and his wife race a modified style of
track car. In order to keep the speeds down on the homemade track, the
cars have 1 person steering, and 1 person operating the gas pedal which
are moved to the other side of the car. Charlie tells all kinds of
backward, deep south tales of cars/farming/living. |

Roger and
Carol
Parents of
Shannon, Roger is a ol’ time Hot rodder who, in the 60’s-70’s set track
records in the Midwest, running 12 sec ¼ mile runs with his hopped up
street racers. He drove semi-truck for many years and has retired with
his highschool girlfriend/wife Carol in, Grant Florida, where they are
building a new home, just 9 miles from the shop. Sometimes Roger and
Mike don’t see eye to eye on his car business, but Roger is once again
adding his car building skills/advice for this build. New Grandmother
Carol is a huge help watching her new granddaughter, Malia, freeing up
mom Shannon to get her hands dirty in the shop with the fellas. She
also will be lending her cooking skills to help feed the cast and crew
throughout the build. |
